Worked my “Olay Rebate” at Albertsons

Photobucket

Remember that awesome new Olay Rebate I mentioned earlier this week? Well, here’s how I decided to get to $30 mark:

Albertsons has a catalina going on till the end of the month:
P&G Participating products between 7/4 – 7/31  (pictured are Always, Herbal Essences, Olay, and Secret)

— Buy 3, get $5 off your next shopping trip

So I went ahead and purchased some Olay Buy One Cleanser Get One FREE coupons. You can now purchase them on ebay (ends up being around .15 each it looks like. Plus we also have $3/1 regenerist coupons from 7/4 PG as well.

First Transaction:
Bought (2) Olay Regenerist Cleansers @$5.79 ea
+ (2) Olay normal Cleansers @$5.79 ea
-use (2) Bogo Coupons
-used (2) $3/1 regenerist coupons
= Paid $7.50, got back $5 catalina

Second Transaction:
Bought (2) Olay Regenerist Cleansers @$5.79 ea
+ (2) Olay normal Cleansers, one 5.79 and one $5.49
-use (2) Bogo Coupons
-used (2) $3/1 regenerist coupons
-use $5 catalina from previous purchase
-used $2 survey receipt
= Paid $.49, got back $5 catalina

= Total out of pocket paid (including coupons purchased) $9.19, + still have$5 catalina to spend in store -so like I only paid $4.19
Then I will be submitting for $10 rebate as my totals before coupons were over $30
Final = $5.81 money maker for 8 Olay cleansers!

If you want to work the rebate this way you can if you purchase the coupons on ebay. You have until the end of the month to get the $5 Albertsons catalina.

October Month End Review

I only ended up spending $128.44 on groceries for October! To be fair though I was out of town (In Virginia) for the last half of the month where I was totally spoiled! I didnt have to cook or spend much money at all on food.  My two youngest kids spent a week at their aunts home, and I brought lots of my cheap food and snacks along for her. So it was just my hubby and my two oldest kids at home. The thing you need to know about my hubby is that he is actually very thrifty.. frugal ..cheap. He pretty much just used up items in the house to cook with. Probably made some mystery food..the poor twins. The whole week he only went out to eat once and that was Little Ceasars Pizza so he only spent like $11.  So it was a great month, didnt spend much at all. But before this trip I went out to eat a few times for lunches – and spent $14.29–adding up these totals now:

Total Spent October $152.73

Total Saved October $628.37

So far spent amount in November : $196.75  (I have made 2 trips to winco, 2 trips to Albies and todays shopping which will hopefully be posted soon)

August Month End Review

Photobucket

So I was DEFINATELY waaaaaaay over budget for August.  However, I dont feel too bad as $140 of my budget was spent on fast food and FAIR FOOD ..oh yeah, expensive ..but every greasy bite was worth it.   Plus I also had a ton of family in!!  For One and a half weeks our household doubled in size. My sister Tiffany, her hubby and their 4 kids came -  shall I do the math for you–4 adults and 8 CHILDREN..yeah..you heard me right. It was a crazy week!  Then the next week my other sister Ashleigh, her hubby and their 2 kids came.  So for 2 and a half weeks I fed tons of extra guests. Thus the massive increase in the budget.  I would do it all over again too though to have them come and visit.  It was a blast.

Here are my totals for the year so far: Not too bad still for my family of 6!
(although this month really kicked up my average)

June Month End Review

month-end-reviewWell..I am quite a bit over budget this month. The big culprit? FAST FOOD. I got carried away with busy baseball game season..and went for the quick and easy dinners far too much.  I spent $81.57 on fast food alone. Some I spent on concessions, but most of it was the quick dinners at MickyDs.

Shameful, I know. (I am hanging my head in shame right now)

Anyhoo..next sport season I will be better prepared. Perhaps I will gear up with freezer meals. Or have dinner before practice. Do any of you have any great ideas for avoiding fast food during sports practice/game seasons? I would love for your tips!!

I had a Walgreens Trip last week I am now mentioning. I bought all this peanut butter, uno game, bread and milk for $29.11 but I still have $8 in RR left to spend.009

Last weeks Albertsons Run: Spent $12.86,  Saved $28.31 (Bought lots of Sara Lee buns and bread)003

Some other shopping not mentioned: A Costco Run, hamburger patties, tons of bottled water, Plastic Wrap plus a few other goodies.

 2009 Y2D TOTAL SPENT: $1440
2009 Y2D TOTAL SAVED: $4070

I have 2 Great GIVEAWAYS going on right now..go HERE to see them!
