rite aid riteaid

Rite Aid is a great store to coupon shop! There are so many great deals to be had there with smart shopping and a fistful of coupons. They offer many items FREE after rebate and great in store sales + coupons.  Below is all the Basic Rite Aid 101 information for beginners. Have fun!

Rite Aid Corporate Coupon Policy

Rite Aid has a corporate coupon policy that they posted online for all to enjoy. I love this  because it clears up many of the coupon questions we all have, including the use of internet coupons and more.  You may want to print it and keep a copy with you, just in case you have trouble with a cashier that doesn’t know the policy.View and print the Rite Aid Corporate Coupon Policy here.

Single Check Rebates

Shopping the Free Stuff at Riteaid involves the word — Single Check Rebate, which is often abbreviated SCR.  At first hearing that word Rebate I was like..nuh-uh..no way. Rebates are a pain, right?  Wrong!! They are actually quite simple with the Riteaid system.  Basically all you need to do is buy the items that are participating Single Check Rebate products, then submit your receipts online and get a check in the mail!  You can often get FREE items this way and sometimes even MAKE MONEY! Let me walk you through what you need to do to get your free after rebate items at riteaid. You can do it all  in just a few {simple} easy steps.

PhotobucketStep 1. Go to the store and buy the items that will be Free after Single Check Rebate.  You can find them by looking at the Riteaid weekly sales ad in the store. It will look like this for example:

For this example if there is a box of Poligrip Powder on sale for $2.99 – with a $2.99 SCR on it. Okay, so you would buy it! It would cost you $2.99 at the store.

Step 2. Go home and start up your computer. Log onto The Riteaid Rebate Website and Sign up/or log in. Enter all your information including your account name and password you will want.  After you enter your information it will take you to a page that looks like this one:

Step 3 : Enter your Reciept Information.Take a look at your recipt.  Enter these 4 numbers from your receipt. The picture on the site makes it really easy to see where your numbers are on your receipt. Type them all in and click the Enter Receipt button. You will get a pop up that will tell you it could take up to 2-5 days to process if you just bought the items recently. Click okay.

riteaid rebates how to
You will now have your main rebate page that tells you what you have for your rebates.  You can view this page any time throughout the month to make sure all your rebates came through.

Step 4:  At the end of the month you just click {Request My Check} and then they will send you a check within 2-3 weeks.  You can request your check anytime, however you can only request it once per month. So if you go shopping the first week, enter your reciepts and click {send me my check},  you cannot do the Free After Rebate items for the rest of the month, and Riteaid often has at least one or two Free After Rebate items weekly.

And thats all there is to it! Buy it, enter your receipt, click send me my check at end of month! Easy peasy.

Video Values Coupons

You can score Rite Aid coupons by going over here and watching video clips to earn coupons. Basically, once you have signed up you can watch videos to earn points + coupons. The videos are normally worth between 1-2 points each. Every month when you have earned a certain number of points (normally 20) you will be able to print a $5 off any $20 Rite Aid Purchase.  You can choose to print your coupons all at once or only when you need them. These Rite Aid coupons can be used with a manufacturer coup0n to sweeten your deals. The videos are normally between 30 seconds – 2 minutes and are basically commercials advertising products.

Wellness+ Program

The Wellness+ Program is a program where Rite Aid customers get a wellness+ card that they can use to get extra savings and rewards. There will be wellness+ card in-store special savings, and you will get 10% on EVERY RiteAid brand product you buy with the card. You earn points every time you shop too: You get 1 point for every $1 you spend (non-prescription) or 25 points for a prescription purchase. These points accrue each calendar year. Here is what you get with the points:

For every 125 points, you will get 10% off one shopping purchase pass.
When you get to 500 points, you will get 10% off all non-prescription purchases + a free health screening.
When you get to 1000 points, you will get 20% off all non-prescription purchases.

When you sign up for your Wellness+ card you will have access to a $5 off any $25 printable coupon plus other Wellness+ coupons. These Wellness+ coupons can be used with a manufacturer coupon for added savings. You cannot however use a Wellness+ coupon with +UP reward coupon. I have been able to use a Rite Aid Video Values coupon witha wellness+ coupon however.

+UP Rewards

+UP rewards are coupons that print on the bottom of your reciept for big savings. *Note: Rite Aid has not come out with an official policy regarding +UP rewards yet, this is just information I have gathered by online searching through forums. Rite Aid could change their policies on +UP rewards any time, and probably will. I did some online forum seaching to find out what I could about the +UP Rewards, so here is what I have gathered:

  1. +Up rewards print on your reciept.
  2. You will need to scan your Wellness+ card to get the +UP rewards.
  3. They will “roll”. So you can buy one, get the +UP rewards and buy the same item, earning another +UP rewards. No limit.
  4. Rite Aid will not adjust your +UP rewards down, so you will need a filler if your rewards exceeds your item. No overage.
  5. Coupons do not affect the rewards, they have been printing with coupons.
  6. When redemming your +UP rewards, you would be able to combine your +UP rewards with manufacturers coupons. You should also in theory be able to use them with Video Values coupons and RA In-Ad coupons. However you would not be able to use a Wellness+ coupon with the +up rewards. Of course I am sure in the beginning of this program its going to be a “Your-Cashier-May-Vary” kind of thing.
  7. +UP rewards expire 2 weeks from when the +UP reward deal ends. If its 6/01 but the reward deal ends on 6/14..then your +UP rewards would have an expiration date of 6/21. But if its 5/1 and your reward ends 5/1 then your expiration date would be 5/15.
  8. +Up rewards will accumulate. For example if the +UP reward says Buy 2 get $4 +UP reward then when you purchased one item nothing would print, but if you purchased the second one later the $4 +UP reward would print on that reciept.
  9.  Be aware that there seem to be some glitches in Rite Aids registers sometimes and some people are having issues redemming them and some are not having any trouble. I am sure Rite Aid is getting all the bugs out.

Other Helpful Tips for Shopping at Riteaid:

Using Coupons with the Single Check Rebate items:  Whenever you use coupons on Single Check Rebate  items you are making money! Because you see when you buy a rebate item that is for example $3.99 and you use a $1 coupon on it, you will pay $2.99 in the store. After you submit your  rebate you will get the full $3.99!! So you just made a dollar for using a coupon. Cool right?

In the store there is a booklet that explains all the rebate items for the whole month. Take one of these when you are grabbing your free after rebate items and make sure the exact size and product are listed in the booklet to avoid problems.

If you forget to click submit on your Riteaid Rebate its okay, because after a couple of months they will just automatically mail it to you!

Advanced Couponing Technique: At the beginning of the month, grab the monthly booklet and find the rebate items in the book you think might be free this month. Sometimes they are the ones with certain dates only, or they have stars next to them.  Call or Email every company in that booklet and ask/request coupons. That way you might have some home mailers when the SCR freebie comes a long for money making.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of check do you get?  The Single Check Rebate check is a check that can be deposited in your checking account at your bank OR you can turn around and use it on the next months Free after Rebate items in the store. The store will give you back change if you do not spend the full value of the check.

Can I have more than one SCR account? You can only submit one account per household.

What do you do if your reciept isnt credited the SCR amount?  You can call 1-888-213-9920 for support.

Does RiteAid accept Internet printable coupons? Yes, but some managers will only allow 1 per transaction, or 1 per internet printable coupon type per transaction. The value of any printable coupon at Riteaid cannot exceed $5.

Can you use an in-ad coupon along with a manufacturer coupon at Riteaid?  Yes you can, but some managers might not allow it.

What do I do if the item that is Free after Single Check Rebate is out of stock and the store does not get them in before the end of the week/month?  You can still get the item Free after SCR – it just takes a little more work.  Here is what you do:

1. go to the cashier and ask for a raincheck.

2. clip out the picture and the price in the weekly ad and staple it to the raincheck. This serves two purposes. It will help you find the item later, and it is clear as day if a cashier questions the wording on the raincheck.

3. keep your eyes open for new coupons while you wait for the item to be in stock. This inconvenience to you often times turns into a moneymaking opportunity.

4. check the stores every week when you are you going for your weekly deals.

5. when the item is in stock, buy it. Make double sure that the receipt says “raincheck” on it by the item.  And make sure you buy the right item: Right size, color, flavor, brand, everything. Carry the rebate book with you as you check.

6. mail the receipt and your information to:
Riteaid Single Check Rebates
PO Box 8340
Wilmington, DE 19803

or fax to: 1-800-457-2243

How come the $5/$25 is only good to print once during the month? I thought I could maybe print 2, and accumulated 40 video points and it kept saying I had already printed it. Now I cant axcess the mycoupons coupon for an extra…

When you get to 20 points and you can print the coupon, it will pull up a printer screen that allows you to print as many as you would like. But you have to print as many as you need that first time!
